DISCUSSION 6 DUE SUNDAY

Dear Students,

This next discussion should feel fairly light in comparison. I’m going to be out of town through the weekend–and while I will have internet access most of the time, I won’t check it as often until I return early next week.

Plus, you’ve got a quiz due on this Sunday as well. You will need to take it by Sunday at 11:59pm in order to qualify for a second chance at it. Then, you’ll have 48 hours to get it done a second time.

So, for this week, we’re rolling back to something I brought up early on. We need to develop a listing of courses aligned with the NACE competencies. Here’s your discussion prompt:

1. Identify (name and number) one class (not repeated by anyone else) in CMST that you’ve either taken or have read the catalog description of–that you believe helps develop your career preparation relative to EACH OF THE NACE COMPETENCIES.

2. Do the same with a non-CMST course from anywhere across the curriculum AT EASTERN ONLY (again, not repeated by anyone else).

When you’re done, you each should have 16 courses (you can repeat them for different competencies in each column–but no one else can repeat your listings). The idea is to build a resource guide so future students can benefit from the courses you would recommend to them. It might be helpful to make a table something like this:

NACE COMPETENCY (list below in order)CMST CLASS aligned to competencyNON-CMST CLASS aligned to competency

Good luck on Quiz 2! Please take the 5 items of study very seriously.

I will stop in (from far away) to check on the discussion, so don’t hesitate to leave me questions if you need to. –patty
